One For Berto by moral one →
i came across this loop in my sample bin about a month or so ago. Berto used it for a song called Shadows. it brought back a lot of memories, good ones. so i decided to give it a 30 min face lift, as if i were to produce a song for BR today and pitch it to them. i wonder if they would like it… click the link and check it out.
geekin’ out. this is stuff i get excited over.

so for the sake of copying and biting what other people did, ill list my 11 favorite records for 2011.
in no proper order:

my ipod is telepathic
especially when it’s on shuffle. unknowingly i was in the mood for some good ‘ol fashioned hip hop beats. no raps. no hooks. no r&b guests. just some hard hitting backpack beats. when i got in the car to come home i didnt know what to listen to, so as usual i click to shuffle- and this was the playlist. and as a preface- my ipod barely plays hip hop back to back to back…...
J-Zone Book Excerpt #3: Back On the Plantation –... →
hilarious. a great short read. my favorite part is here —————————————————— “Jay, you can’t let potential members walk out the door,” my boss pounded daily throughout my first month on the job. “They can say they can’t afford the gym or ‘I’ll think about it’ all they want. If they walk out,...

Adventures In Digging: Tampa, FL Edition
while i was down in Tampa last week i had the chance to accidentally go .99 digging with my good homie/ label mate Theory Hazit. we were actually on the hunt for coffee but we found records instead- tomato/tamato. so with $5 bucks in my pocket this is what i came up with. nothing serious, nothing checked off my dream list, but some fun stuff to flip nonetheless.
Streetlights →
frontlinemog:
So last night I was showing the #Streetlights video (Psalm 73) to a high school student but he couldn’t understand what it was at first.
When I explained to him that @McBoogalu/@TheAlertLive was just reading the text he said, “Oh so he’s just reading the bible with swag.”
I guess that’s a good way to put that.
im leaving on a jet plane tomorrow morning...
