Two for Dilla →
the next track in my (hopefully) ongoing series throughout the month of February is a pretty true to form take on Busta Rhyme’s “Show Me What You Got“
i dug and found the infamous “Stereolab” sample, took some busta rhymes aca’s- detuned waaay low, and the rest is history. share and enjoy.

One for Dilla →
its dilla month. (as you can tell by the post’s below) so for fun ill be chopping the original samples of my favorite dilla tracks and putting my spin on them and uploading them to the album above. the first track i went at was the Thomas Bangalter song used for “Raise It Up”. i kept it pretty true to form but changed some rhythms here and there. enjoy.

i came across this loop in my sample bin about a month or so ago. Berto used it for a song called Shadows. it brought back a lot of memories, good ones. so i decided to give it a 30 min face lift, as if i were to produce a song for BR today and pitch it to them. i wonder if they would like it… click the link and check it out.

The second half of today w/ Alert at one of Chicago’s premier recording studios, Wall to Wall. Fantastic session. Vintage gear, great live rooms, and fun new songs to record all make for a rewarding time at the studio. Can’t wait to share the songs with y’all.

especially when it’s on shuffle. unknowingly i was in the mood for some good ‘ol fashioned hip hop beats. no raps. no hooks. no r&b guests. just some hard hitting backpack beats. when i got in the car to come home i didnt know what to listen to, so as usual i click to shuffle- and this was the playlist. and as a preface- my ipod barely plays hip hop back to back to back…...

Adventures In Digging: Tampa, FL Edition
while i was down in Tampa last week i had the chance to accidentally go .99 digging with my good homie/ label mate Theory Hazit. we were actually on the hunt for coffee but we found records instead- tomato/tamato. so with $5 bucks in my pocket this is what i came up with. nothing serious, nothing checked off my dream list, but some fun stuff to flip nonetheless.
